A resume headline is one line that tells a recruiter what you do before they read anything else. On Naukri it shows next to your name in recruiter search results, so it often decides whether your profile gets opened at all.
A headline is a single line, like a title. A summary is two to four sentences that expand on it. On a resume, the headline sits under your name; on Naukri it’s the “Resume headline” field; on LinkedIn it’s the line under your photo. Keep the three consistent so recruiters see the same story everywhere.
On a resume, the headline is optional but useful when your last job title doesn’t match the role you want, or when you’re a fresher with no title yet. It gives the recruiter the right frame before they read your summary.
Use the job title you’re targeting, written the way job posts write it, so it matches recruiter searches. Keep it to a line or two on Naukri and shorter on a resume, where one line is best.

It's a short line in your Naukri profile describing your role, experience and key skills. It appears in recruiter search results, so a specific headline with the right job title and skills helps your profile get opened.
Your degree, two or three skills you've used, and your target role or best proof, for example: “B.Tech CSE Fresher | Java, Python, SQL | Seeking Software Developer Role”.
Yes, the terms are used interchangeably, as is profile title. All mean the one-line description of who you are professionally, not the document title “Resume”.
One line on your resume, around 10–20 words. Short, specific headlines are easier to read in recruiter search results.
It's optional on the resume itself. It helps most for freshers and career changers, whose last job title doesn't describe the role they want. Keep it consistent with your Naukri and LinkedIn headlines.
